Portable Kitchen Sink
Not long ago we reviewed Sea To Summit's Pocket Shower, which was one of the best camping essentials we've ever seen. We even debated not putting it on PBC as it's not actually that "pointless", but a portable kitchen sink?
It's basically same idea; a giant bag that you fill up with water and off you go. The only difference is rather than hanging it from a tree and letting all the water fall out to wash under, you throw your dirty dishes in it and scrub scrub scrub away!
The device is built almost like a miniature pop up tent. It hides away in a lightweight bag until you need to use it, and then pops into action as soon as it's removed. A steel rim helps to keep the sink upright when it's full of soapy water and it also has two carry handles for lugging it back from the nearest drinking water tap (or stream/river/lake if you're a hardened Bear Grylls-style veteran).
However, there's one big issue I have with the Portable Sink. I mean think about it, why does anyone go away camping? I'd imagine it's to get away from the mundane tasks like chores. I'm not going to deny it's an innovative idea, but if I go camping I'm talking a disposable BBQ, paper plates, plastic cutlery and some bin liners!
But on the plus side, you can now say "I'm taking everything and the kitchen sink" and literally mean it!

"Why is it pointless?"
Washing up? On holiday? Don't be silly!
"Why is it cool?"
Most camping devices and gadgets are cool by default.
